I'm Ben Shnider and I’m running for Montgomery County Council in District 3.
I’m running because it’s getting too hard to get by in this community that I love.
It’s time for new leaders who are willing to make the tough decisions necessary to ensure that every County resident can afford to live and thrive in our community.
I’ve spent my life working as a progressive advocate. Now, I’m asking for the opportunity to be your advocate on our County Council.
I've seen the power of regular people coming together to advocate for what's right.
This election matters. It's time for a change.
Montgomery County is a special place. Our community is full of people who dedicate their lives to serving others. This spirit of service moved me to work for President Obama’s 2008 campaign, advocating to prioritize diplomacy over war, and push for economic justice, civil rights, and immigration reform on Capitol Hill. It’s this spirit of service that got me into this race.
So this campaign isn’t about me. It’s about providing you with the proactive, progressive public servant you deserve in our County government.
I believe providing such leadership starts with listening to the residents who make this community great. That’s why I’m going door to door: to hear directly from you about the issues that matter most in your life. I’m meeting countless neighbors who are just one broken down car or healthcare emergency away from bankruptcy—and they’re hungry for leaders who will fight for them in these uncertain times.
Washington might not hear you. Annapolis might not hear you. But I hear you.
I hope you’ll join me to build a more progressive future for Montgomery County and provide the proactive leadership our community deserves.
